ад Volunteers да
We always need reliable volunteers. We will be happy to train you. Volunteers must be 18 years of age or older or may be as young as 14 years old if another adult volunteer is present. If you can help with any of these volunteer opportunities, please call the shelter at 404-754-3062 as soon as possible. We are currently looking for volunteers to help with the following:
CAGE CLEANING:
If you can spare one or two mornings a week, we are looking for someone to help feed and water the cats and clean their cages at the Petsmart in Conyers. This usually can be done in about 2 hours. The volunteer needs to be there by 9 am but can get there as early as 7 a.m. If you would like to
bring a friend to help, it can be done in pairs. This is a critical responsibility because without volunteers, we cannot keep our cats or kittens there to find homes. Volunteer must be reliable.
GRANT WRITING:
Help researching, planning and writing grants. This can be done at your own convenience from your home.
SPAY/NEUTER FOLLOW-UPS:
This involves following up with people by phone who have given up kittens to us and making sure they have gotten their adult cats spayed and neutered. This volunteer will be responsible for problem solving to get the animal fixed. It may involve delivering traps, setting veterinary appointments
and possibly transporting cats to the vet for surgery. We will train you.
ADOPTIONS:
Volunteer will assist on weekend adoptions at Petsmart during training and will eventually be responsible for adoptions one evening a week at Petsmart from 4-8 p.m. This volunteer must believe in the importance of keeping cats indoors and be comfortable saying "no" to potential adoptors. There will be times when you will have to turn down a potential adoptor because they would not provide a suitable home.
FOSTER HOMES:
Temporarily housing animals for the organization. This is a great way to have the joy of having kittens without the long term commitment of owning a cat! This helps the animals by giving them more individual attention, finding out about the animal's personality to help us find the right home and allowing the animal to be socialized in a home environment.
We look forward to hearing from you!
